Wilderness Expedition

ITINEARY
Day 01 : Arrival in Whitehorse in late evening. Your guide Pierre and Veronique we’ll welcome you to the airport. We’ll drive up to the base camp (30 Km) where your little log cabin will be waiting for you for a good night rest.
Day 02 : In the morning, after a hot shower, we’ll go for a visit of the town of Whitehorse, the McBride Museum where you can learn about the gold rush, the lifestyle in the old days and the wildlife in Yukon. You’ll have some time for some souvenir gift, postcard and last minute shopping. After lunch, we’ll drive back to our base camp where you will be introduce to your dogs. A first initiation and explanation on dog mushing will be given. You’ll learn how to put harness on dogs, the line system, handler the dog and the mushing language. At the end of the day, will share a good meal and a cozy fire. In the evening, all together will give the care and feed the dogs.
Day 3-5 : For the first 3 days will explore the trail with the amazing sceneries that offer our area. Every day after breakfast will do 30 km trail up and down woodlands, frozen lake and alpine plateau that give overlooking view of Fish lake and Whitehorse. Everyday you will feel more and more the connection with your own team and increase your confidence in your mushing skills. In the evening you will enjoy being back to the cozynest of our small log cabin to learn more about our northern lifestyle. We will share tasty meal in our cabin with a nice fire in the stove. The last night it’s time to pack all our gear to be ready to leave for the expedition.
Day 6-12 : Today we will be leaving for a expedition of 200 km through total remote wilderness. Heading toward Ibex valley an old glacier valley offering spectacular view on the beginning of the coast mountains. Everyday at night we will set up our campement, build a big fire, cook a meal on it, give the care to the dogs, share good stories and enjoy the silent and the majic of the northern sky. In the day, you will be steering your sled through frozen scenery, lakes, forest and explore the immensity that represent you what we call « the Yukon Spell ». At our furtehest point to Rose lake, a pristine lake of 80 km long a day rest for everyone ; some hicking or ice fishing for some. On the last afternoon will head back to our base camp, where after this 7 days trip will enjoy a hot shower and a festive meal together at the restaurant.
Day 13 : For the last day in Yukon, relaxation to the Takini Hot spring, located 45 min from Whitehorse these sources are created by the high level of mineral are stay at a temperature of 42c even in winter.
Day 14 : Transfert to the aeroport

OUR TRAVEL ETHIC are base on a desire to have true connection with our surrounding, first with our guests by co-living on the trails, sharing passions, knowledges and memories together. As well with nature, by minimizing the impact on our environnement, with an eco-tourism respectful of the ressource and by being aware of his necessity. And of course with our dogs, fully part of our family, working hard and deserving care, patience and respect at all times as they are always keen to please.
-All food is cook on the open fire, tasty hot meals are prepare mornings and evenings
-All material and food is transport by a support snowmobile exception of your personnal gear which is in your own sled.
-We can adapt to specific dietetic requirement but need to be advise at booking time.
-All Arctic clothing including mitts, parka, pants, boots as well as sleeping bag -40 is provided
-Our dogs are a mix of alaskan husky, and malamute and nordic breed
-Dogs at night are tied to a line to assure safety
